Weekly Exports Report
Combined soybean exports were shown at 106.9 million bushels this week. New crop soybean export sales made a new record at 88.7 million bushels. Old crop soybean export sales were 18.2 million bushels. Since we are over the current USDA target of 1.26 billion bushels by 45 million bushels, one can assume that USDA will raise export sales in next week's supply and demand report.

Money Flow and Market Direction
As July came to a close and the month of August gets started, the grain markets have come off of their summer lows to retrace some of that sell off. Is it a change in weather forecasts or the influx of money back into the grain markets that has spurred prices back higher? There is a lot of talk about "Money Flow" and it is about as hard to predict as the weather!

Corn Maturity
The present 2009 corn crop is in very select company in many ways as the industry awaits USDA's additional acreage data results due to be released within its August 12th crop production report. While the trade focuses on the likelihood of an acreage decrease in corn and a yield per acre increase resulting in larger end stocks, we must not lose sight of the lagging maturity for the 2009 corn crop.
