Cattle trade supply decline with concerns over demand.

This was an odd week for the cattle market. Negative pressure came from the growing concern sharp interest rate rates will create a recession. The stock market posted new lows for its downtrend again today. Some are also monitoring wholesale beef in the short term to see if high gas prices are creating any short term demand concern. On the other hand the heat wave in the Plains allowed for gains in cash cattle. August fats ended the week +0.37 while August feeders posted -1.52.
