Daily livestock processing numbers improve.

A moderate volume of cash trade was noted yesterday in the South at $137. That would be even with last week's trade in those areas. Today's Fed Cattle Exchange saw no trades with bids mostly $137 and one up to $137.25. Feedlots feel the improving processing situation should mean an improved packer interest. A second light factor may have been this week's temperature break and snows in far western Kansas. The showlist count on Monday, the estimate of weekly offering of finished cattle, was estimated -3,000 head from last week. As a reminder, fed cattle numbers should still be relatively low ahead in February. The cash cattle trade will be eager to see how well we process our recent minor backlog in numbers before the big spring flush of seasonal numbers hits.
