Grains post a mixed performance after USDA. September 30, 2022
USDA surprised the trade with a bigger than expected revision to the long completed 2021 corn harvest as well as much smaller than expected final old crop ending stocks. Partial support was also noted from Argentine planting news and a revised EU crop estimate. Negatives include the poor US export sales pace, Mississippi water levels and outside markets. The market did close higher today but it was off the day's highs by 18 3/4 cents. For the week December corn ended +3/4 cent.
