Last week’s cash cattle trade was better than expected.

The average All Grades live price, more akin to black hides in Iowa and Nebraska, ran 125.74 last week. That was over the prior week's 125.47. This is the highest price for that grade grouping since April of 2019. There was no composite quote for the 35% - 36% grading group, what most of the trade sees as "cash cattle". On the dressed end the average price was 204.45. That was well over the 201.15 prior week and was the best since April 2019.
