Length of forecasted heat ahead is in doubt.

Updated long term forecasts from the government's weather agencies were bearish. We expected them to flavor their August-only and August-September forecasts with a little bit of the current one and two week forecast. That did not happen, at all. Normal to below normal temperatures were forecast. Iowa is the center for the below normal discussion. Only Ohio was left with above normal. Precipitation was called normal to above normal for all of the Midwest. The band of above normal runs from Eastern Nebraska and Eastern Kansas, all of Iowa and Missouri, Central/Southern Illinois and Southern Indiana.
