Smallest Hog Herd In Four Years

The nation's hog producers told USDA they had smaller hog numbers than the trade expected. Liquidation in 2020 and production problems in 2021 have yet to stabilize. Ahead of the key spring demand period, and seasonal supply lows in summer, the hog herd is -2.3% from one year ago. This is the smallest hog herd in four years.
