We noted on Thursday's comments a light concern with the fact there was an area including Southern Minnesota, Central and Eastern Iowa and Northern Illinois which would only see 0.4 - 1.2 inches of rain over the next two weeks. That forecast is now upped to 2.2 - 4.5. All other areas in the Midwest are generally set for 1.3 - 3.0. Parts of Iowa and Missouri will see 4 - 7. The goal is at least 1 inch of rain per week for most areas. Having noted this beneficial forecast, good through July 22, Drew did suggest yesterday the later part of July may see a light moisture deficit. That is not yet showing in the latest GFS run.
