Worst early-summer setup in modern history, but…

The weekly Drought Monitor report got the trade's attention with further expansion of problems for the Eastern Cornbelt. USDA's Office of the Chief Economist takes the D1 - D4 drought classifications, light brown through red areas on the map you're familiar with, and estimates the percentage of each crop's acreage impacted. Today's update of "Corn Area Under Drought" was expanded from last Thursday's 34% to now 45%.
