Allendale, Inc. Releases Cattle on Feed and Cold Storage Estimates
CHICAGO, IL. (December 15, 2022) – The following are our estimates for the coming Cattle on Feed report.
November placements are expected -2.6% from last year at 1.920 million head. This would mark three months in a row of year over year declines. November placements determine a part of May – September finished cattle supply. Kansas State University estimates cattle finished during this time require a $153 fed breakeven.
Allendale anticipates a Marketing total in November -0.1% from last year at 1.871 million.
Total Cattle on Feed as of December 1 is estimated at 11.697 million, -2.4% from last year. This is the smallest total for this month in five years.
